Ville de Laval police dog calendars

Since 2010, the dog-handling team from the Laval police service has been supporting the cause of people with head injuries by producing an annual calendar featuring their dogs. In 2008, their colleague Éric Lavoie died following a severe head injury suffered during a car accident. The dog handlers decided to mobilize to help people living with a head injury and their loved ones by producing a calendar sold to benefit the Martin-Matte Foundation.

Ville de Laval police dog calendars

The Ville de Laval police dog-handling team supports the cause of people living with a head injury by producing an annual calendar featuring their dogs.

On September 8, 2008, their colleague Éric Lavoie died following a severe head injury suffered during a serious accident when he was on duty.

On the night of August 12, 2005, Agent Lavoie, recently promoted to dog handler in the canine section, was responding to an emergency call on highway 13 with his dog. He had to swerve to avoid a truck, which caused his patrol vehicle to go off the road. He was hospitalized for over three years before succumbing to his injuries.

The 32-year-old father of a young boy, he had been a police officer with the Laval police service since April 12, 1999. He will never be forgotten.
