The Service de police de Laval dog handling team supports the cause of people living with a head injury by producing an annual calendar featuring their dogs.
On September 8, 2008, their colleague Éric Lavoie died after a severe head injury suffered during a serious car accident while he was on duty.
The dog handlers decided to mobilize to help people living with a head injury by selling calendars in neighbourhood police stations in Laval as well as via the Martin-Matte Foundation website.
Since 2010, they have donated over $640,000 to the Martin-Matte Foundation.
