SAINT-RÉMI, May 25, 2026 – The governments of Quebec and Canada, the City of Saint-Rémi, and the organization Vents d'espoir today officially broke ground on the 9th Martin-Matte House.
This innovative $19M residential complex will offer 42 adapted social housing units, along with specialized facilities including a therapeutic pool and a fitness room, for adults living with a traumatic brain injury or a physical disability. A human-scale alternative to institutional care, this unique living environment will foster resident independence. This major project finally comes to fruition after 12 years of hard work by caregiver Sylvie Boyer, in collaboration with the Martin-Matte Foundation and valuable public and private partners.
