Project Maison Martin-Matte Joliette - Amélie-Fristel Complex
This project was born from a deep desire of the sisters of the Saints Coeurs de Jésus et de Marie and community organizations in the Lanaudière region to create a site for housing and mutual support focused on the needs of clienteles living with a head injury or physical impairment. Headed up by four organizations that are already part of the social fabric of the Lanaudière region and that offer complementary services to these clienteles, this inspiring project will serve as a model of integration for vulnerable people that reflects the collective, community principles that guided the project. This housing project, worth an estimated $15 million, creates living environments adapted to the needs of people living with a motor impairment, a hearing impairment, or a head injury. The models of supervised apartments proposed by the collective will enable residents to live in a stimulating environment that fosters their full social participation and allows them to carry out their life plans. In addition to the Martin-Matte Foundation, several partners will take part in this magnificent project, including the Ville de Joliette, the Société d’habitation du Québec and the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux de Lanaudière. |
